- Position Details & Requirements
- Current New York State EMT certification in good standing.
- Minimum of (4) years of EMS experience.
- Knowledge of EMS operations, personnel management, scheduling, training, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Completion of applicable NIMS/ICS training. Willingness to complete other training as requested.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with agency personnel, municipal officials, healthcare partners, and the public.
- Ability to serve as Acting Chief in the absence of the Chief.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate agency records and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced leadership, officer development, or management training.
- Experience in EMS administration, training, quality improvement, or operations management.
- EMS instructor certification, or experience in a teaching/educational setting.
- Experience with policy development, fleet management, and strategic planning.
- Experience in a volunteer or combination EMS agency preferred.
- Supervisory, officer, or management experience within an EMS, fire, rescue, or public safety organization.
- Successful completion of a recognized leadership or supervisory training program.
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Current New York State EMT certification in good standing.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Current CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent).
- Ability to lift and move patients and equipment in a variety of environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check, drug screening, and physical examination (if applicable).
- Ability to comply with all agency policies, New York State EMS regulations, and patient confidentiality requirements
- Pay for this position is $22 an hour

- Driver
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Current CPR certification
